Welcome to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raebareli

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raebareli was established in 1984 by Indian Council of Agriculture Research "ICAR" for assessment and evaluation of technology for speeding up of the agricultural production in the district of Raebareli. The centre is affiliated with C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. KVK Raebareli is situated on Allahabad - Lucknow state highway at a distance of 5 Km. from Raebareli city.

Impact of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Driyapur, Raebareli

Scientist of Krishi Viyan Kendra, dariyapur are working between farming community according to the mandate of KVK which includes On Farm Trial, Front line Demonstration, On Campus & Off Campus Training Programme, Field Days, Kisan Gosthis, Kisan Mela etc. During last three years through OFT & FLD Scientists of KVK Raebareily introduced latest technology amongst farmers viz., Integrated Nutrient Management, Integrated Pest Management, Crop Diversification, Use of Biofertilizers, Production of NADEP & Vermicompst and their use in crop field to improve soil fertility, Use of Bio-agents viz. Trichoderma virdae, buveria bassiana, Trichogramma card to control insect pests & diseases through biological means & to reduce use of chemicals. In livestock management farmers were aware about deworming, balanced nutrition, feeding of green fodder round the year to the livestock, vaccination etc.

Discipline wise achievement done by Scientists of KVK Raebareli

Agronomy

During last three years (2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15) introduction of latest cereals crop varieties for getting higher production were done which is as follows:

During last three years (2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15) in Plant Protection Use of Bio-agents viz. Trichoderma virdae, buveria bassiana, Trichogramma card to control insect pests & diseases through biological means & to reduce use of chemicals. Seed treatment were popularize among the farmer to protect the crop from different diseases. Different herbicides for controlling weed in crops were popularize among the farmer to reduce loses during crop production.

    Horticulture

During last three years (2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15) introduction of latest varieties of Vegetables were done for getting higher production is as follows:

In Banana crop foliar spray of micronutrient at various stages development was popularize among the farmers farmers to increase the productivity of banana. Intercropping of turmeric in old mango orchard was popularize for getting additional income.

    Animal Science

During last three years (2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15) in discipline of animal husbandry many technology has been transferred to the farmers. Like Training, Demonstration, On Farm Trial and Farm Advisory Sevices. In demonstration vaccination against FMD disease and H.S. has been done at farmers home. Introduction of green fodder like as Napier grass var. Hybrid Napier, NB-21, NB-3, New variety of barseem (vardan), BB-3, Sudan Chari, Lucerne (T-9, Anand-2), has been done at farmers field. Cross breeding of desi cattle with Holstien Frisian and Jersey was done at farmers field so that the breed of farmers has been improved and become high milk producer. Testing of many medicines for deworming was tested on farmers animals. To increase the milk yield of cattle and buffalo mineral mixture feeding (50g/animal/day) was advised to farmers. Small units of poultry and goatry was established at farmers house.

Through On Campus & Off Campus training programmes, Field Days, Kisan Gosthis, Kisan Mela farmers are introduced with latest technologies and make them aware about the Scientific Cultivation of Agricultural Crops.

In order to achieve above mandates of KVK the demonstraton unit viz., Horticulture Unit, Goatry Unit, Poultry Unit, Vemi compost & NADEP Unit and Crop Cafeteria has been established at the centre. The scientists specialised in agronomy horticulture, animal science, extension education and home science organised need based training programmes, conduct front line demonstrators, on farm trials and provide farm advisory services to farming community and line departments.
